Igor Fishelev: Expanded Biography

Igor Fishelev built his career at the intersection of science, international trade, and industrial entrepreneurship. He received a degree in physics from Ural State University and continued his education through postgraduate research at the Institute of Metal Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

His transition into business began in 1991, when he became a co-founder of Link, among the first publicly structured companies in the region. As Vice President, Fishelev supervised investment initiatives and managed foreign economic relations, navigating the challenges of an emerging market economy and developing expertise in international commercial operations.

A key milestone in his career came in 1994 with his appointment to Mitsui & Co. Ltd. Working within one of Japan’s largest trading groups, he was promoted in 1995 to lead the company’s Yekaterinburg office. There, he managed multi-sector import and export activities, built long-term partnerships, and adopted global standards of corporate and operational management.

In 2000, Igor Fishelev founded Unimatic, a company specializing in industrial equipment supply, engineering services, and solutions for mechanical engineering enterprises. Over the following years, he guided the company’s growth, strengthened cooperation with international manufacturers, and positioned Unimatic as a reliable partner for industrial modernization projects.

In 2018, he transferred the business to the next generation, handing over ownership and management to his son, Oleg Fishelev. Today, Igor Fishelev applies his experience to consulting, mentoring, and supporting high-technology initiatives and entrepreneurial projects.
